With the rise of Islamic Blogs, publishers are looking for useful Islamic PHP scripts for Websites, take a look below for some extremely useful ones that you can use immediately!

There are tons of resources available to manipulate and customise to your own needs when it comes to programming on the Web. If your website utilises server-side code such as PHP or ASP, you are bound to find many classes/functions to immediately add to your site. Widgets are also very handy bits of code that you can easily paste in to your websites without much fuss. I am not including any CMS Widgets or Modules these are for general HTML/PHP websites although it can be used in those CMS.

There are also many client side scripts available written with JavaScript which you can apply without needing to have any PHP code.

If you do program in PHP or ASP, it is likely you will have a MySQL database as well. Some of the scripts also require you to have a database so that data can be retrieved on demand which means that you are not dependant on any third-party sites to serve your scripts.

If you would like Islamic CMS scripts, read the post on Islamic WordPress Plugins or Joomla Modules for Islamic Websites.

Here are some Islamic PHP Scripts that I think is very useful and should most certainly be utilised for any Islamic website.

The Quranic Arabic Corpus

The amount of time that must have been spent trying to put this extraordinary resource together is certainly commendable. As well as being able to use this resource, it also has an API and you are also able to download the entire Quranic Corpus.

Quranic Arabic Corpus, an annotated linguistic resource which shows the Arabic grammar, syntax and morphology for each word in the Holy Quran. The corpus provides three levels of analysis: morphological annotation, a syntactic treebank and a semantic ontology.

Tanzil Resources

Another of my favourites, actually I used this source to adapt my Quran database for my website :-) It is packed with Quran translations in many different languages to download in different formats including mysql database dump, xml format and more. Amongst other things it also includes the text of the Quran, the metadata so chapter names, parts etc, Quranic fonts and other stuff. It is dedicated to bringing the Quran in to electronic format.

Prayer Times Calculator

An open source prayer times calculator that doesn’t need you to have any server-side scripts. This runs on JavaScript and there is an online manual with usage examples so that you can get started straight away.

Pray Times, an Islamic project aimed at providing an open-source library for calculating Muslim prayers times.

The first version of Pray Times was released in early 2007. The code is currently used in a wide range of Islamic websites and applications.

Daily Hadith Widget

The website itself contains thousands of ahadith and it has a daily hadith section which has a different hadith each day from different collections not just one. This is available as a widget so you are able to embed onto any website, all you have to do is copy and paste the line of code that is provided. It is currently being used by many websites on the web also this doesn’t need any programming knowledge and can be used with CMS such as Joomla and WordPress.

Islamware Resources

This is for the more experienced as it also contains scripts written in VB.net, Perl and PHP. The downloads are in Unicode and raw format so a little bit of conversion is required. But certainly a place to check out.

Well those are places I’ve accumulated throughout the years, are there any that I’ve missed? Let me know your thoughts.
