If you can’t wait and want to download the Calendars now then you should click here or read on, you may enjoy it! 🙂

One year has flown past so quick, the new islamic year will start in November 2013 with much of the islamic calendar 1435 Hijri falling in 2014 CE.

Muharram is the first month of the islamic calendar and there are many virtuous deeds that can be achieved in the beginning of the islamic year.

As I write the month of Dhul-hijjah has just started and this month also has much significance. It is the month of Hajj (annual pilgrimage to Makkah). Eid al-adha is in this month. Why not check out some Eid al-Adha greeting cards that I’ve created just for Eid.

Allah (swt) says in the Quran:

And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass –

Quran 22:27.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“The best fast after Ramadan is the month of Allah, al-Muharram. The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is the night prayer.”

Sahih Muslim.

You can read more about the month of Muharram here.

Even though we live in a time where the Islamic Calendar doesn’t have a real significance in our lives except that we use it to find out when Ramadan, Eid and Hajj are. We certainly can use it to find out when each Islamic month starts so that we can try to do righteous deeds because each month is special and has its own virtues.

This time when creating the calendar I’ve used the dates from UK islamic Wifaqul Ulama moon sighting criteria.

The Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar isn’t really based on fiqh but it is the Saudi national calendar, read more here. Therefore, the dates may differ with the calendars below.
