So another season of Football has started and some pretty excellent Muslim Footballers have joined too. I previously wrote about some of the players that I would like to see arrive in the Barclays Premier League in 2013.

Well one of my wishes has come true with the arrival of Mesut Özil to Arsenal.

There have also been a few muslims players returning to the league after having played in other leagues around the world.

Muslim Footballers in the Barclays Premier League

Now that the football transfer window has closed we can safely say that they will stay here for at least a season or two and show the world their exceptional skills.

Muslim Footballers in the English Premier League 2013 – 2014

With the relegation of Wigan F.C to the Championship, Ali al-Habsi also left the Premier with his team. This means that there are no Muslim Goal keepers in the Premier League this year, we’ll see if anyone arrives in January 2014.

There some other surprises as Manchester UTD have added their first ever Muslim Player and with the loan move of Oussama Assaidi to Stoke from Liverpool and Sidibe leaving. Stoke City make sure they still have a Muslim among them. Newcastle F.C still remain the only club to have 5 muslim players in one team.
