Another new year, another year for Muslim Holidays well if you live in a non-muslim country you are likely to not have holidays or days off work at all. So in that case for you, muslim holidays will just be Islamic Festivals to observe at home after work. 
Muslim holiday celebrations are different from the ones you would see in non-muslim countries, muslims have a unique way of celebrating their Islamic festivals.
The main two Festivals or Celebrations of Islam that nearly everyone knows about is Ramadan and Eid, for some non-muslims it is shocking to see muslims fasting in the month of Ramadan and they cannot really figure out why Muslims would do such a thing. For Muslims, celebrating an Islamic festival is usually about glorifying their Creator Allah (swt), as it he who has created them and has allowed them to enjoy what they like.
But it is not to say that they can’t have fun on their Muslim Holidays, just take a look at Eid you’ll find that muslims have a great day by inviting all their family and friends to their homes for a good feast and family entertainment. Everyone wears their best outfits and brings presents for each other. At Eid-al-Adha Muslims if they can afford to, they slaughter an animal in sacrifice and then the meat is given to their families and the poor.
Islam redefined how to celebrate muslim holidays, prior to Islam the holy months were not observed properly and the pagan Arabs did what profited them most, economically. Islam came and wiped all of that away and showed how to celebrate the Islamic festivals and gain the pleasure of their Lord.
Since the new year has just began I thought I’d do a Muslim Holidays 2013 post with all the dates of the Islamic Festivals in the Gregorian and Hijri Date. You can download all the Muslim holiday dates in a nice poster format below.

So here are the Islamic Festivals in 2013, 1434/35 Hijri in order.
Mawlid (Milad un Nabi) - 24th January 2013 - 12 Rabi ul-Awwal 1434
The birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), this is the date for the Sunni muslims, the Shia celebrate mawlid 5 days after.
Al-Isra Wal Miraj - 6th June 2013 - 27th Rajab 1434
The night of ascension and journey of the Prophet Muhammad (saw).
Laylat ul-Baraat - 24th June 2013 - 15th Shaaban 1434
The night of prayer and supplications.
Ramadan - 9th July 2013 - 1st Ramadan 1434
The month of fasting begins, start date is dependant upon the sighting on the moon.
Laylat ul-Qadr - 29th July to 6th August 2013 - 20th to 29th Ramadan 1434
This is the night of Power, it is believed that the Quran was revealed that night could be any of the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr - 8th August 2013 - 1st Shawwal 1434
The first Muslim Holiday after Ramadan.
Eid al-Adha - 15th October 2013 - 10th Dhul-Hijjah 1434
The Eid at the time of Hajj and a sacrificial animal is also offered.
Al Hijra - 4th November 2013 - 1st Muharram 1435
The birth of the Islamic State which was the start of the spread of Islam also known as the date of migration to medina.
Ashura - 13th November 2013 - 10th Muharram 1435
A two days of voluntary fasting in the month of Muharram which also has many other virtues.
