    I’m afraid that I find these quotations rather embarrassing. Not because they are wrong or evil, but because they are trite. Having read the aphorisms of a great many sages from most of the world’s sacred traditions, these seem disappointingly prosaic.

      Ahmal;

      You insult the great Sahaba Umar ibn Khattab(RA). I feel disappointed in your arrogance. You probably think the garbage collector is not important as well.

      Where is Umar ibn Khattab(RA) now? and where are those sages? Umar ibn Khattab(RA)wasn’t known for speaking; he was known as a man of action.

      You speak, he worked. Repent for insulting our great leader, brother in Islam. Arrogance isn’t from Islam. Either speak words of kindness or remain quiet.

      Do you feel pagans were better than Umar(RA)?

      To Ahmal”
      In Arabic, each of these quotes is beautiful in its simplicity, gentleness and purity. They also have a depth and universality that applies in so many situations. If you have read as many quotes as you say you have, you would realize that a lot of the beautiful meaning is lost in the translation into English. So please read the original , and then revisit your own comments.

    To Ahmal, he who can give advise and or explain things in the most simple terms is the most intelligent for complicated words complicate the mind.
